IMHI, the Institut de Management Hôtelier International, was founded in 1981 as a result of a partnership between ESSEC and the Cornell School of Hotel Management. Over the past twenty-five years, IMHI has grown and now achieved full independence from Cornell.

IMHI is situated on the campus of ESSEC, one of France’s most prestigious ‘grandes écoles’ or business schools. The IMHI MBA in International Hospitality Management is part of an MBA cluster together with the ESSEC MBA, the MBA in Luxury Brand Management and the Executive MBA. ESSEC as a whole is accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS. The IMHI qualification is also certified by the French Professional Qualification Board at Level 1 (equivalent to five years of study at university level).

The IMHI MBA can be taken over either one or two years. It provides a thorough education in high level management in the dynamic and rapidly changing sector of the hospitality industry in a worldwide context. The program uniquely combines business school management education with an in-depth understanding of the hospitality sector.

The qualification is ideal for ambitious candidates who already have some experience of this professional world and wish to acquire the skills to make rapid progress to high managerial or consultancy positions. It also fits the needs of older participants wishing to start a second career.
