ESSEC MBA International Luxury Brand Management: various missions

The ESSEC MBA International Luxury Brand Management boutique internships, international field trips and field projects are some of the ways in which participants gather in-depth knowledge of the luxury and prestige sector. Le Bon Marché, Baccarat, Cartier, Dior, Ermenegildo Zegna, Escada, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Guerlain, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, MAC, Montblanc, Sephora and Wolford are among the companies that have hosted MBA participants in their boutiques. A two-month global field project at the end of the program gives teams of students another chance to meet top executives.

Boutique internships

The luxury and prestige industry is one where retail is the ultimate battleground. Thus, all MBA participants spend two days working in a boutique in Paris, putting their theoretical knowledge of retail into practice, and receiving hands-on, customer service experience.

The Global Field Project

Teams of three to five MBA participants spend two full months on this project (June-July), with extensive preparation done during the preceding months. The Global Field Project includes several dimensions and functions within a company (brand positioning, pricing, distribution, internet communication, etc.), and is monitored by an MBA professor and by a company executive. A formal presentation of the final results is organized for the company, along with a full report.

International Field Trips

In order to explore the market and meet luxury and prestige top executives, executive search consultants and market analysts, field trips are organized to major international destinations, either with an established luxury sector or with an emerging market in the luxury sector. These trips help MBA participants gain an understanding from an international perspective of those companies visited.
