Specialized Postgraduate Programs: "Apprentissage" Track
"Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) is only available for the Specialized Postgraduate Program in International Business Law, Specialized Master’s in International Supply Management and Management and Specialized Master’s in Management of Information Systems and Telecommunication Networks, in partnership with Telecom Paris. "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) is one way to finance a degree. It is based on legal regulations, policies and practices defined by the Apprenticeship Training Center, in agreement with program directors. Students are accompanied throughout their apprenticeship experience by professor-tutors. Apprentices must be under 26 and French nationals or hold a French work permit. Tuition fees are covered by "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship), but administration fees are not. |
  |  | How to become an apprentice?
This option is offered to all students admitted providing that they are under 26 when the "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) contract is signed.
Now open to all international students following a Master’s-level program and under the age of 26 Student
Requirements: * To be admitted and registered on an ESSEC Business School program, * To be present in France to sign the "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) contract in order to obtain a provisional work permit * To sign a contract with a company based in France, for a fixed period of time which is indicated in the contract. * An operational level of French at the beginning of the mission is required by the partner company.

 The advantages of "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship)
The advantages of "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) are numerous: - Better structuring of the academic and professional paths that take into account the student’s projects; - Value of long experience on the CV as a salaried employee; Financial compensation (salary, exoneration from tuition fees, acquisition of retirement credit, etc.); - More interesting dialogue with corporate directors and experts |
Duties resulting from a contract
The apprentice is considered a full-time employee of the firm. The company frees the student for a given number of hours specified in the contract, making it possible for him to follow his academic program in order to obtain a degree. Students must account for the use of their time to the firm and the Apprenticeship Training Center (in the firm, at university, on holiday). In addition, students must conduct themselves ethically and protect the interests of the firm, like other employees. |  |  |
The choice of options
Concluded for 12,15 or 24 months depending on the Master chosen, the "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) contract organizes the program, alternating periods of study with period working in the firm. During school vacation, the students work full time in the firm. Each program concludes with a period of several months full time in the firm. |
 |  | Tuition fees covered by "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship)
The company pays the apprentice’s tuition fees for two years. The apprentice pays administration fees (management fees, student club fees, sports fees). In addition, students receive a monthly salary throughout the length of the contract, according to a scale defined by law. Apprentices pay very reduced social charges. |
The assignment
Candidates can consult the list of offers on the intranet or send a candidacy directly to the company of their choice. Their work can be general or specialized, for a large group or an SME. The professional work must change over time and allow the student to develop his skills and potential. During periods in the company, students may change service, or even country, and thus have an international experience. |
Concluding a contract
Candidates for "Apprentissage" Track (apprenticeship) must conform to the recruitment procedures implemented by firms. As soon as a student and a company agree on alternation between work and courses, the position, responsibilities and training, the contract can be signed. Students inform the Apprenticeship Training Center, which will take care of administrative procedures. |  |  |

Throughout the contact, students are supervised and accompanied by professional tutors who advise them on their academic program and professional orientation. |

The Specialized Masters (MS) are professional post master (M) programmes.
This LABEL was created in 1986 by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.
The Conference des Grandes Ecoles federates the most prestigious French business and engineering schools. In 2007, it had 116 members. Since its creation in 1986, 65 500 students have graduated from postgraduate specialized masters. |  |
