ESSEC Business School’s Advanced Master Strategy & Management of International Business (SMIB), the Master in Finance and the Global MBA have been recognized in the 2018 QS World University Rankings as three of the top programs in the world:

  • #4 Advanced Master Strategy & Management of International Business (SMIB)
  • #10 Master in Finance
  • #27 Global MBA

For this newly modified ranking, QS compiled a thorough, multivariate ranking on business programs and this represents a major evolution of their previous work that had been primarily focused on employer opinion.  The ranking focuses on key strengths of the programs including alumni outcomes, diversity, employability, thought leadership and value for money.

Out of a total 121 schools considered in the ranking, ESSEC’s SMIB ranks 4th globally.  The program performed particularly well in regards to alumni outcomes, value for money and employability, a criterion that examines employer reputation as well as the employment rate for students three months post-graduation.

Globally, the Master in Finance ranks 10th out of 131 schools in the Masters in Finance Rankings 2018. The ranking highlights the key strengths of the program, which was also particularly well ranked regarding alumni outcomes and employability. The program performed well above the global and regional averages for Finance.

“The Global MBA program ranks 27th globally out of 232 institutions and 14th in Europe out of a total 70 institutions. The program presents a relative strength in Diversity (percentage of female faculty and students, percentage of international faculty, number of student nationalities), and Entrepreneurship and Alumni Success. ESSEC’s MBA program also represents a 10-year Return on Investment higher than the global and regional medians. The program also scored above the global as well as European averages on all indicators.”

The ranking also serves to highlight the quality of ESSEC’s academic programs.  Overall, all three of the programs ranked well above the global and European averages for thought leadership, an indicator that measures academic reputation, the percentage of faculty with a PhD, and research impact.

According to Felix Papier, the Dean of Academic Programs at ESSEC, “All of ESSEC’s programs are among the best in their domain and the QS Ranking reaffirms the quality of our offerings in a tough competitive environment. Such results represent a major asset for the reach and attractiveness of our school.”
