Overview

What are the key benefits of the program?

The curriculum offers a truly Asian perspective, with case studies taught by industry thought-leaders and professors from Europe and Asia. Emphasis is placed on developing cross-functional management skills in addition to acquiring a technical and analytical skill set. Participants will complete a thesis-formatted Health Challenge Project under the mentorship of a professor and an industry leader, which incubates innovative solutions to complex real-world issues.

Career Prospects for Graduates

What are the career prospects available for graduates?

Graduates from this program can choose to work in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology industry as executives, managers or specialists, in a wide range of functions such as health economics, business development, project management, government affairs, marketing and communications, etc. They can also take up managerial positions in public or private health service organisations in the functions of operations management, health service management, technology transfer, etc.

Curriculum

What is the delivery format of the program?

The MSc in Management of Health Industries is a 1-year modular program delivered in Singapore through evening sessions and Saturdays fortnightly. 

How are the classes conducted?

The way classes are conducted is characteristic of high interaction between lecturers and participants, and heavy focus on real world praxis. For example, participants are required to analyze numerous case studies (with a substantial number of cases in Asia’s healthcare market), role-play in business simulation games and participate in workshops in negotiation skills, leadership and entrepreneurship, etc.

Is GMAT required?

Yes, GMAT (or GRE) is a requirement for the program. Whilst we take a holistic view of each candidate’s application based on his or her education background and work experience, the GMAT serves as an assessment tool and also an indication of the candidate’s commitment to the program.
