The curriculum offers a truly Asian perspective, with case studies taught by industry thought-leaders and professors from Europe and Asia. Emphasis is placed on developing cross-functional management skills in addition to acquiring a technical and analytical skill set. Participants will complete a thesis-formatted Health Challenge Project under the mentorship of a professor and an industry leader, which incubates innovative solutions to complex real-world issues.
The program is developed for: high-potential postgraduates with a background in life sciences (chemistry, biology, biostatistics, bioengineering, etc.), medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or business management; executives eager to build a successful career in the management of health industries; professionals seeking to take on new roles and responsibilities in pharmaceutical, medical devices, and biotechnology companies.
Career Prospects for Graduates
Graduates from this program can choose to work in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology industry as executives, managers or specialists, in a wide range of functions such as health economics, business development, project management, government affairs, marketing and communications, etc. They can also take up managerial positions in public or private health service organisations in the functions of operations management, health service management, technology transfer, etc.
The MSc in Management of Health Industries is a 1-year modular program delivered in Singapore through evening sessions and Saturdays fortnightly.
The way classes are conducted is characteristic of high interaction between lecturers and participants, and heavy focus on real world praxis.
