Research and Teaching Chairs and Institutes


ESSEC’s vocation is to develop and internationalize the excellent education that has built its reputation by closely involving partner companies. Both chairs and institutes enhance the synergy between the academic and professional worlds.

Chairs


Objectives: to develop research and respond to problems specific to a business sector or corporate function while developing initial training programs.
 
Players: a team (a professor, a research associate, a doctoral candidate, a secretary), about 15 to 20 students per class, partners (1 exclusive partner or a group of 3 to 8 partners).
 
A budget: at least 330,000 euros per year for 4 years.


Institutes


A variety of objectives: an institute combines several chairs and programs to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to research and teaching.

A larger team: an institute director, a professor per chair, one faculty member to direct each program, research associates, doctoral candidates, secretaries, and a larger number of partners.
 
A budget: between 660,000 euros and 1.5 million euros per year for 5 years, depending on the size of the institute.
