ESSEC Entrepreneurship: Full-time education


The ESSEC Ventures entrepreneurship program is designed for students in the ESSEC MBA, IMHI MBA, and EPSCI and those preparing specialized Master’s programs who want to create their own company or simply to learn more about the entrepreneur’s experience.

The program includes basic courses that are completed by about 300 students per year, and 38 additional electives are offered by a number of departments.

Introduction to Entrepreneurship  


Professor: Philippe Hayat
Class: 50 students per quarter, 150 students per year
Objective: to master the basic skills in finance, sales, marketing, law, and human resources needed to develop a project.
A dozen entrepreneurs and professionals are invited to help teach classes during the course.

Professor: Anastasios Karamanos
Class: 30 students per year
Objective: The course provides real added value for those who want to understand all aspects of developing a business plan and starting a company.

Teacher: Hamid BOUCHIKHI
Class: 30 students per quarter, 8-10 projects
Objective: introduction to the various stages in building a business plan

Introduction to Risk Capital 


Teacher: Geneviève Helleringer
Class: 30 students per year
Objective: to provide future entrepreneneurs with the skills needed to raise funds and work with investors.
 

Legal and fiscal aspects of corporate development


Class: 30 students per year
Objective: To enable future managers and consultants to understand all the legal aspects involved in creating and buying a company, with emphasis on both legal and fiscal implications.

Internet-Based Entrepreneurial Investing


Teacher: Jean-Marie CHOFFRAY
Class: 30 students per year
Objective: Course in English. This course teaches how to make the best use of the information and the tools available on the internet to make sound investment decisions, both at the individual and at the corporate levels.

It addresses key questions that challenge all entrepreneurs concerned with the most efficient use of their limited resources: where to find the best opportunities (information); how to assess the economic value of target companies (intelligence); how to optimize the allocation of available cash (decision); what are the key drivers of success for an entrepreneurial investor (control).
