ESSEC Entrepreneurship: The seed capital fund

The fund has been created to invest in a selection of projects with a high potential for growth. The seed fund is a growth accelerator for the projects in which we participate.

A dual mission

To provide support within the ESSEC ecosystem by providing start-ups with strategic and tactical consulting services, logistics support, and mobilization of the group’s contact network and partners.

To contribute to the financial profitability of the start-ups by assisting them in attracting additional funds from institutional investors during subsequent rounds.

Project sourcing based on the entire ESSEC community and ecosystem

For many years, ESSEC Business School has developed a significant presence in the field of corporate start-ups and buyouts through:

- its incubator program (47 incubated projects with 23 firms currently operational)
- a partnership with ParisBiotech (50 incubated projects with 15 firms currently operational)
- the alumni clubs
- business plan competitions (Tremplin/Sénat, Creatio)
- The Institut de la Transmission d’entreprises (ITE – Institute for Company Transfers) within the continuing education program

It completes training and operational support to projects.

Coaching and project supervision upstream and downstream of the investment phase

Supervision and coaching of participating projects are areas where the School can provide the consulting and networking services companies require after the investment phase:

- directly through the ESSEC Ventures team and its incubator as well as coaching/supervision and expertise provided by the faculty
- indirectly through the ESSEC ecosystem
