ESSEC Entrepreneurship: Paris Biotech Incubator


A government-approved Incubator focused on cutting-edge technologies exclusively devoted to improving human health.
Paris Biotech is a public incubator specialized in human health, launched in the context of the Allègre law on Innovation and Research.

The founding members of Paris Biotech are ESSEC, the Cochin-Port Royal Faculty of Medicine (Université Paris V), INSERM, and the Ecole Centrale de Paris.
Since its launch in December 2000, Paris Biotech has accompanied fifty projects.

Incubation services


Today, Paris Biotech includes over 50 incubated projects with 20 companies created. The incubator offers a wide range of services to incubated projects, including:
 
- Facilities: 500 m2 of office space at the Paris Port Royal Faculty of Medicine
- Production / engineering: 700 m2 of laboratories at Cochin Institute
- Legal counseling: industrial property, patents…
- Management: recruitment aid, coaching, management training…
- Commercial / marketing: consulting, networks, making connections
- Financing: connecting with risk capital investors, finding subsidies …
- Strategy: help in developing a business plan.
 
Paris Biotech continues to evolve in project support with the implementation of an enterprise nursery.
Work on the nursery began at the end of 2004 at the Cochin Port Royal Hospital. Thus, 3,200m2 of offices and laboratories will be available by spring 2006.
