The Chair of Therapeutic Innovation has a clean bill of health!

Since its creation in 2003 by Professor Gregory Katz...

Since its creation in 2003 by Professor Gregory Katz, the Therapeutic Chair of Innovation has been supported by Sanofi-Aventis, the most generous sponsor of the ESSEC development campaign.

As of January 1st 2012, the Chair will be supported by three new partners: Roche (world leader in personalized medicine), Celgene (world leader in cell therapy) and GlaxoSmithKline biologicals (world leader in vaccines).
“These eight years with Sanofi were particularly intense and fertile” explains Professor Gregory Katz. “We are proud to see the Chair bounce back thanks to the support of three enterprises with a clear commitment to disruptive technologies that are liable to effectively combat disease, with a single purpose: to prolong patients’ lives.” This renewal is also a recognition of the work accomplished by the Chair, its team, its students, its teaching model and its research – a Chair whose funding will have brought ESSEC close to 4 million euros by 2015.

Since its creation in 2003, the ESSEC Chair of Therapeutic Innovation aims to meet two objectives:

  • 1/ train future health industry decision makers in innovation management;
  • develop strategic analyses to transform therapeutic disruptive technologies into economic and social progress.

Each year, the Chair welcomes international graduate and post-graduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds seeking to steer their career towards the healthcare sector. In addition to its teaching activities, the Chair conducts socio-economic studies and strives to create a stimulating laboratory of ideas, a space for free forward thinking on the impact that these biomedical innovations will have over the next decade.
