Variety is the watchword for the next few months of Centenary celebrations, with Spain, Morocco, Lebanon, Italy and the United Kingdom all playing host to Alumni events. Amongst the various student-led initiatives planned are:
- A Centenary Special “Tournoi des 5 Ballons” (Europe’s largest student-organized sports event),
- A performance by ESSEC's student musical troupe at the world-famous Olympia concert hall in central Paris,
- The appearance of a guest of international renown at the “Mardis de l’ESSEC” debating society
.
Academic meetings will include
a conference on the theme of Environmental Responsibility, and a seminar with a distinctly Asian flavor in subject matter and location, to be held in Shanghai.
The highlight of the first half of this Centenary Year will come at the very beginning of June. Friday 1 and Saturday 2 June (100 years almost to the day that ESSEC was founded),
the Cergy campus will host a large-scale Geopolitical Conference that will see the participation of members of ESSEC’s International Advisory Board.
On the same weekend, the Board will convene for its second annual meeting and
the 10 000m² of new buildings will be officially inaugurated. What promises to be a momentous two days will be brought to a close by
a Gala Night in celebration of the Centenary at the Carrousel du Louvre in central Paris.
More on this and all other Centenary events between now and then will feature in a special edition of the International Newsletter, due out at the end of June.
