ESSEC Asian Center news

ESSEC’s Singapore campus has been increasingly active in recent months, with developments at Initial and Executive Education level.

The creation of the Specialized Master’s in Strategy and Management of International Business was confirmed, and will become available at the beginning of the 2007-08 academic year.
This new, “100% Asian track” represents a new and important step in the internationalization of Master’s degrees.
As a result, students will have the opportunity to follow the complete course in a multicultural environment and to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for working in an Asian context.

This brings the total number of tracks available to students of the program to 6, which include courses split between ESSEC’s Cergy campus, and either the Asian Center and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Thunderbird (USA), or EGADE (Mexico). Further details are available in the following press release.

Also set up recently and already recruiting for its first session (September 28-October 1) is an executive program offered jointly by ESSEC and MasterCard in Luxury Brand Management. Experts from the field will provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge on the particularities of the Asia-Pacific luxury brand management sector.
MasterCard is offering 15 scholarships to the most suitable candidates.

Staying at executive level, the Executive MBA Class of 2008 received support from the Asian Center in organizing the second annual Asia Connect Forum.
Held at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the event attracted financial institutions, governmental organizations and companies from Asia, Europe and the United States.
ESSEC contributions came from Christian Koenig (Director of the ESSEC Asian Center) and Alan Jenkins (Academic Director of the Executive MBA) during the conference, with themes ranging from investment issues through to Marketing, and Research and Development. More information is available via the website specially designed for the occasion.

Finally, a new communications initiative was implemented in the form of an Asian Center Newsletter bringing information every two months on visits, projects and events at ESSEC’s Singapore campus.
