International Rankings Results

The 2007/08 academic year got off to an excellent start with the publication of two prestigious international rankings in the specialized press on September 17.

For its first participation in the Wall Street Journal’s “Top Business Schools recruiters’ MBA Picks” rankings, the ESSEC MBA program stood out in 7th position in the world and 4th in Europe, ahead of all its French competitors. This remarkable début offers undeniable justification of the School’s decision to transform its Grande Ecole program into an MBA with integrated professional experience in 1999.

An outstanding début for the ESSEC MBA

The results of this particular ranking are calculated on the basis of feedback from recruiters within major companies across the world on the most suitable MBAs from a recruitment perspective. Participants in the questionnaire identified outstanding qualities in graduates of the ESSEC MBA program, in particular their “open mind, entrepreneurial spirit and personal integrity”. Furthermore, an article published to accompany the ranking results observed the increased international exposure of ESSEC students, a growing cultural awareness, and the perfect balance of theory and practice at curriculum level.

Via this result, the ESSEC MBA has consolidated its place among the world’s top MBA programs and, by extension, offered a highly positive reflection of the education dispensed by ESSEC in general.

Specialized Master’s alumni show their approval

The Financial Times “Best Master’s in Management” rankings once again featured the ESSEC Specialized Master’s in Strategy and Management of International Business, this time in 5th position, an improvement of one place on last year’s performance. A closer look at the results reveals programs of many different types, including exchanges and Grande Ecole programs. A comparison of similar programs has the Specialized Master’s program submitted by ESSEC in 2nd place overall.

An especially ringing endorsement came in the “Aims Achieved” category of the rankings, which reflects the extent to which alumni fulfilled their goals or aims in taking the program. The ESSEC Specialized Master’s in Strategy and Management of International Business finished top, with an alumni level of satisfaction reaching a high of 85%.
