Launched earlier this year by the ESSEC Asian Center, the Mastercard-ESSEC Luxury Brand Management Executive seminar received its first intake of participants at the end of September for the first 4-day seminar.
Sharing expert, hands-on knowledge
This unique learning experience specializing in the Asia-Pacific luxury retail and service sectors provides up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge of branding, management and consumer trends. ESSEC Professors Simon Nyeck and Michel Phan, along with Professor Pierre Xiao Lu (Fudan University School of Management), provide expert analysis and insight via business case discussions and debates. 15 participants benefited from their knowledge for the first session, with an additional 13 expected for the second session. The intake has been boosted by the offering of 15 scholarships by MasterCard to the best applicants.
Replying to the demands of Asian markets
For Christian Koenig, Director of the ESSEC Asian Center, the needs for and benefits of such a program are clear:
“We felt it was important to have a program that draws on our established and proven curriculum while providing a uniquely Asian perspective. The MasterCard-ESSEC Luxury Brand Management Program will give executives the edge”.
The increased liberalization of Asian markets is providing increased business opportunities and new sources of growth. By creating this Luxury Brand program of its own in partnership with MasterCard, ESSEC has seized a valuable educational opportunity of its own.
The initial batch of 15 participants in the program received internationally-recognized certificates at a ceremony held on October 1, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Mr. Pierre Buhler.
