Laurent Wauquiez, Minister of Higher Education and Research announced the winners of the last call for LABEX (Laboratories for Excellence) competition.
The LABEX project "Mathematics and Economics" (MME-DII) led by the University of Cergy (THEMA), in partnership with ESSEC, University Paris 13, University of Nanterre and University of Paris 2, counts among the 72 winners of the last call for tenders by the ANR (National Research Agency).
The "Mathematics and Economics" project gathered 20 professors from various fields (Economics, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems and Operations Management) under the coordination of Professor Arnaud Lefranc (Economist, University of Cergy).
For ESSEC Business School, the participation to this LABEX is a label of excellence delivered by the French Higher Education and Research Administration that will support applications for further grants. It recognizes the excellence of our research in a relatively narrow field (quantitative analysis).
The selected Laboratories will receive significant funding to increase their international visibility, to compete better with international universities and labs, to attract renowned researchers and faculty and to build an integrated research policy.
