"Financial Engineering Asia" track

From France to Singapore, with a stop in The City and hong-Kong

Students of the class of 2011 had the opportunity to meet professionals in Hong-Kong.
In November, they also attended a study trip in the City of London where they got to meet finance professionals and ESSEC graduates working in Europe's main financial centre.
Some of the companies visited in London and Hong Kong: Citigroup CICC (China International Capital Corporation Limited), Barclays Capital, CVC Partners, Bloomberg, CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, Credit Suisse, Newedge, Societe Generale CIB, CIC Private Banking, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Credit Agricole CIB, HK Exchange (2nd stock exchange in Asia after the Tokyo Stock Exchange), SMBC (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation), UBS Wealth Managemen.



A semester in Singapore

Courses are offered at ESSEC’s Singapore campus from January to April/May. The Singapore campus is located in the ultra modern building housing the National Library in the city center.   It is an ideal location on the Asian continent for students who wish to discover the diversity and complexity of this region.

A study trip to The City in London

  • The one-week study trip abroad allows students to meet with professionals from other cultures and to learn about new issues.
  • It is an excellent opportunity to observe how universal the operating modes of financial markets are, despite the specificities of each financial center (clients, investors, regulations, etc.)

International professional recognition: CFA Institute

The partnership with the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) ensures international professional recognition for students holding this qualification.

Founded in the United States in 1947, the CFA Institute is the most widely recognized professional organization worldwide for financial analysts. It now has over 90,000 members in the United States (72%) and Europe (13%).

Courses with an international perspective

  • The Financial Engineering Asia track offers an international perspective, with a teaching faculty made up of international experts and students from a wide range of cultures.
  • Most of the referential scientific literature is in English. All the courses are given in English as well.
  • Program coursework includes exercises based on real situations. Certain projects are assigned to groups of students with a range of nationalities and educational backgrounds.

In-company placements in France or abroad

Students are placed on assignments with investment banks, financial intermediaries, investors, fund management companies and advising firms in France or abroad.

  • Finama Private Equity: “Evaluating profitability in LBO projects”
  • IT Asset Management: “Evaluating technology firms in the semi-conductor sector”
