ESSEC Housing in ALEGESSEC residences: important information for foreign students

The advantages of living in an ESSEC student residence and all you need to know before leaving so that your arrival goes smoothly.

Furniture and equipment

Foreign students may rent kitchen ware and linen. This information is included in the administrative packet sent by the program of enrollment. Your luggage will be lighter! This crockery and linen kit costs 90 euros.
You can also buy a kit including linen, crockery, a microwave et a TV set for 180 euros (please ask for it at Alegessec’s reception.).

Monthly rent payments

The best mode of payment is automatic bank withdrawal (only on French bank accounts), and this takes place between the 5th and 10th each month. Payment can also be made with a bank card, in cash or by check.

Monthly rent

Alegessec administrators deduct the APL housing subsidy (a system of financial aid allocated to students by the French government) from the monthly rent. Foreign students must have a “carte de séjour” and a certified French translation of their birth certificate in order to benefit from the APL housing subsidy.

Carte de séjour

The “carte de séjour” is attributed to non-EU students only if they come to France with a D student visa (not a tourist visa), with the mention “Demande de titre dès l’arrivée en France” or “Pour une carte” or “Carte de séjour à solliciter dès l’arrivée.”
Foreign students from non-EU countries who do not have a “carte de séjour” and who want to stay for only three months will pay the maximum rent (APL is not deducted).
