Six leading business schools from three different continents have created the Bachelor-to-Master (B2M) network. The objective of B2M is to encourage global mobility for students in management education by facilitating the members’ respective bachelor students to pursue their studies with a master degree at another member institution.

In partnership with IE Business School (Spain), School of Business and Management of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (Hong Kong, China), Smith School of Business of Queen’s University at Kingston (Canada), University of Mannheim Business School (Germany) and Warwick Business School (United Kingdom).

These six founding members of B2M build their cooperation on a long-standing collaboration in different domains and on mutual trust. The program was founded on the idea that business students who graduate from multiple international institutions will have an advantage in navigating an international environment at the very start of their professional careers. This appeals to employers, as such graduates are better able to tackle the critical challenges of today’s volatile world.

The B2M network provides individual support, waiver of application fees, and other advantages (such as guaranteed invitation to admission interviews for some partners) for 20-30 selected undergraduate students from each B2M member school, who wish to pursue their studies in a top master program. The B2M network is an attractive opportunity for students in the participating bachelor programs, and it also supports the participating master programs in recruiting highly talented international students.

The B2M is a flexible network that is meant to grow through the integrating of new member institutions; institutions that share the same values and the same commitment to high quality management education as its founding members.

“An international outlook is a very important element of the education we provide, so we really want to encourage our students to take this opportunity,” says Chris TSANG, Head of School Development and MSc Program Director at the HKUST Business School. “If students are aiming to pursue a higher degree outside of Hong Kong, this will certainly be of use to them. It also brings more diversity to the MSc programs we offer.”

Felix Papier, Dean of Pre-Experience Programs at ESSEC Business School, adds “Encouraging international mobility has always been a priority of our school. A student of the ESSEC Global BBA program who complements her education with a master program at a leading management school  of the B2M network has excellent career opportunities. B2M allows us to propose a continuous, global educational path with similar values and consistently high quality. Since the beginning of 2021, we have already issued 15 B2M passports to our Global BBA students at ESSEC.”
