The goal of the MBA in International Luxury Brand Management is to help participants become permanent learners, able to develop a global vision of business, leadership and to enhance their managerial abilities in order to successfully manage a luxury brand.

The First Sector ­Specific MBA for the Luxury Industry

Launched in 1995, ESSEC Business School along with LVMH and L’Oréal recognized the growing demand of specialized individuals required to develop the luxury business in emerging markets and beyond. As the program was the first of its kind ever to be launched globally, you will be able to take advantage of the years spent building the prestige of the program as well as strong industry partnerships.

Partnerships with Top-­Level Brands and Institutions

You will have the opportunity to profit from the partnerships that have been nurtured over the years with numerous companies including the LVHM Group, L’Oréal, Chanel, Coach, Ermenegildo Zegna and many others.

International Exposure

You will be exposed to emerging and mature international luxury brand markets and immersed in the reality of these markets through hands ­on experience. Every February, the Academic Director takes the MBA class abroad for a twelve ­day trip, during which students explore the local market and meet market analysts and heads of prestigious local firms. In recent years students have travelled to Hong Kong and Dubai. A second trip takes place in Italy where you will visit some of the world’s top jewellery and fashion houses including Bulgari, Gucci, Ferragamo, Fendi and Zegna.

Several Specializations

Depending on your professional ambitions, you can specialize in fashion and accessories, fragrances and cosmetics, watches and jewellery, wine and spirits, cars and technology or hotels and real estate.

Luxury Global Field Project

From mid-­May to July, you will conduct a full-­time, two­-month consulting project at a prestigious company as part of a three or four member team to integrate all that you have learned academically and practically. Each team is supervised by an ESSEC professor and a manager from the company concerned. The final results are presented to the company’s staff and a written report is submitted.Participating companies include American Express, L’Oréal Luxe, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Chanel and PPR Luxury.

 A few examples of past projects:

  • Develop a European fashion and accessories brand in the United States.
  • Improve in­store customer service for a watch and jewellery brand.
  • Create a new fragrance concept for a cosmetics firm.
  • Develop a new communications platform for a wine and spirits brand.
