The 2010 graduation ceremony took place on October 16th 2010, at the Cergy-Pontoise campus

Among the 530 graduating students 400 received their degree in front of over thousand people. For the first time, graduates, faculty and staff members were wearing ceremonial ties with different colors, an innovation that was widely acclaimed.

The guest of honor was Mr. Thelot. As he completed his studies at ESSEC in 1974, Patrick THELOT, then 25, created ex nihilo his first company. 36 years later, the “start-up” has become the Sofinord services group, generating a turnover of 180 M€ and employing 4,900 people. He presented his experience and gave some advice to the young graduates on how to lead a successful career and a company. Two recent graduates, Bing Yan and Alexandre Avrillon, also presented their experience and life at ESSEC.

The ceremony was followed by a cocktail in the new ESSEC premises where graduates and their families, as well as faculty and staff members kept on celebrating the event. According to the tradition, a party honoring the graduates was organized by the Students Bureau.
