IMHI Alumni

AAIMHI is the alumni association of the ESSEC Business School - MBA in Hospitality Management Paris, which operates independently from the school and serves over 1,300 alumni worldwide. As an ESSEC Hospitality (IMHI) alumnus, several membership options (AAIMHI, ESSEC and/or Cornell) are available to you. Your dues and donations are important to the schools and the alumni associations and they will impact the lives of both students and alumni. We thank you for your continuous support.

Geneva Get-Together April 22nd

We would like to thank Carine Ehret H05 for organizing an excellent reunion of IMHI Alumni in Geneva. The event was hosted at the Grand Hotel Kempinski.  We would also like to thank all those in the region for attending this now traditional get-together. The next one will perhaps be held in Lausanne.

Brussels Get-Together March 29th

We would like to thank Nicolas Meylan H86 for hosting the event in his Radisson Blu Royal hotel of which he has become recently the general manager  after several years at the helm of the Radisson Blu EU. As usual alumni from Brussels or visiting Brussels have joined us for a very pleasant evening. Nicolas will continue organizing such events at least twice a year.

Stéphane Klein H85, newly elected to the board, was the CEO of Starbucks Coffee France and was responsible for launching Starbucks in France in 2004. He went on to open 35 branches (with an additional 8 signed) before he left three years later. Today heads his own company "Evandre" and he is also currently involved with the group of the world-renowned chef, Alain Ducasse, developping a completely new concept of restaurant.

Nicolas Meylan H86 has been the GM of Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Brussels Belgium since January 2010. He previously held the position of GM for 5 years and handled the opening of the Radisson SAS Hotel E.U. in Brussels. He was also the GM of the Crowne Plaza Brussels Europe (Intercontinental Hotel till June 2002) - IHG Group for 5 years. From 1997 to 2000 he was the Hotel Manager of the Inter-Continental Hyde Park Corner Hotel - IHG Group in London. He started his career in Food and Beverage in various companies such as Inter-Continental - IHG Group Paris, France, as Regional F& B Manager France/Switzerland, the Grand Hotel Inter-Continental as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of F& B. Prior to that he held positions with Meridien USA in Boston as F& B Manager, in San Diego as Assistant to the F& B Manager, in New Orleans, as Restaurant Manager Restaurant Henri and in Houston, as Restaurant Manager of the Restaurant de France. Nicolas has been organizing our alumni get-togethers in Brussels twice a year for the past three years.

How it works
As an IMHI alumnus (diplômé de l'IMHI) you may chose a basic subscription with the alumni association of IMHI (AAIMHI) or join the main ESSEC Alumni Association
AAIMHI services include the IMHI alumni database, selected hospitality sector job offers and recruiting companies.

The fees are:
Active membership - 20 Euros
Couple membership - 35 Euros

Note: Do not pay the 20 Euros of AAIMHI if you decide to pay the ESSEC membership dues. The AAIMHI dues are included in the 120 Euros (or more) ESSEC dues.

AAIMHI, ESSEC Hospitality (IMHI) alumni
For those interested only in the ESSEC Hospitality (IMHI) alumni network, activities, hospitality job offers and recruiting agencies and IMHI alumni database, you may want to join AAIMHI for 20 Euros.

ESSEC alumni
Should you decide to join the ESSEC alumni association and its 35 000 member network including the 1300 ESSEC Hospitality (IMHI) alumni, please note that the AAIMHI membership dues are automatically included in the ESSEC dues. ESSEC alumni's dues start at 120 Euros minimum including the 20 Euros AAIMHI membership, 160 Euros with the ESSEC alumni magazine Reflets. Furthermore they increase with the amount of add-on services to which you subscribe, but I would encourage you to consider such membership particularly if your interests lie outside the hospitality sector.

Cornell Hotel Society
ESSEC Hospitality (IMHI) Alumni who graduated from a two year program between 1983 and 2006 may also want to join the Cornell Hotel Society. The dues are US$ 60 and do not give right to the AAIMHI membership.

 

The IMHI and the Cornell alumni

The IMHI and the Cornell alumni in France decided on July 16th  in Paris to give a reception in honour of the sixth Dean of Cornell University’s School of Hotel administration and the ambassador of the united states to France, to express the tight relationship between two committed alumni associations and two countries -  France and the United states -  who have in common a strong tradition in outstanding hospitality education.
