Experience the “global connect” of business

The Global MBA program possesses a strong international dimension, designed to enable participants to routinely step-outside their comfort zones and experience business in challenging new environments firsthand. As a future global business leader, you will develop knowledge about local cultures and business practices, learn to bridge the cross-cultural communication gap, and become adept at managing people in culturally sensitive ways.

Study trips abroad

During the course of the program, and in addition to the IIP, participants have the option to take part in two study tours in Eastern Europe and Singapore and field projects in emerging countries.

The International Immersion program (IIP)

The IIP is an intensive 4-to-6 week period of mentor-led experiential learning off-campus. The experience enables participants to grasp key ideas in managerial practice through a field-based applied management project and dynamic, ‘active-learning’ exercises.

The IIP provides participants with:

  • A deeper understanding of a region’s business, cultural and political environment;
  • A working knowledge of local business practices through direct interaction with managers and government officials;
  • The opportunity to explore the value of different economic models as a benchmark for global business practices;
  • Heightened intercultural awareness and communication skills;
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently in diverse teams;
  • Experience in taking responsible, ethical decisions.

Activities proposed during the IIP

The International Immersion Program takes place outside a classroom or lecture environment in emerging countries in Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. Students get an opportunity to work in consulting projects in private as well as public or non-governmental organizations.
A wide variety of industries may be covered, including: consumer products, international development, energy, finance, healthcare, biosciences, sustainable development, demographic studies, media and entertainment, technology, telecommunications, luxury…
Each project that is undertaken may cover several key phases that are jointly decided with the participating organization, such as:

  • Country – business, political, social environment analysis;
  • Industry analysis;
  • Company analysis;
  • Issue analysis;
  • Implementation and feedback.

Following participation, groups of students are required to deliver a consulting report or a case study in line with the requirement of the partner organization that is then defended during the Capstone Seminar.
