ESSEC Business School and Yale School of Management partner on two new consecutive degree agreements

29.9.2025

September 29, 2025 - Cergy, France and New Haven, USA - ESSEC Business School and Yale School of Management (SOM) are celebrating the signature of two new consecutive degrees that will offer ESSEC students the opportunity to further their education at Yale.

Students in ESSEC’s Master in Management and Global MBA programs will have the opportunity to participate in this new learning experience, which will see them split their studies between ESSEC’s Cergy or La Défense campuses and Yale’s campus in New Haven, Connecticut.

Participants will earn a degree from each institution: ESSEC MiM students can pursue Yale’s Master of Management Studies in Global Business and Society (GBS), and Global MBA students can pursue Yale’s Master of Advanced Management (MAM). For Global MBA students, this is one of the first opportunities to pursue a consecutive degree offered by the program.

ESSEC Master in Management students can apply to the one-year Yale Master of Management Studies program during their first year at ESSEC, thus completing the program during their second year of studies. Global MBA students will apply to Yale during their one-year MBA program before heading to New Haven for the one-year Master of Advanced Management program. The cohorts starting in September 2026 will be the first to benefit from this new opportunity.

Vincenzo Vinzi, ESSEC Business School Dean and President, says, “These new consecutive-degree programs with Yale School of Management are emblematic of ESSEC’s strategy to promote excellence: to cultivate transformative educational experiences through alliances with the world’s most prestigious universities.”

Camino de Paz, Yale SOM Assistant Dean of Global Network Programs, says “We have always recruited GBS and MAM students directly through the schools where they studied their MIM and MBA degrees respectively. We are thrilled to continue partnering with schools around the world in our ongoing efforts to attract the best and brightest students to Yale SOM.”

This new partnership offers students the possibility to earn two globally-recognized, prestigious degrees: either the ESSEC Master in Management and Yale SOM’s MMS-GBS, or the ESSEC Global MBA and Yale SOM’s MAM.

By pursuing this opportunity, students can gain perspective from two continents, with immersion in both the European and American cultural context. As graduates from these programs, students will become members of both the ESSEC and Yale SOM alumni networks, granting them access to expanded career and networking opportunities.

ESSEC and Yale SOM share an emphasis on global leadership and societal impact, exploring the intersection of business and society. With this agreement, ESSEC expands its growing portfolio of North American educational opportunities, including partners like the University of California, Berkeley, UCLA School of Law, and Carnegie Mellon University, reinforcing its global positioning.
