Metalab Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Society

Artificial intelligence is redefining our societies, our businesses and our economies. It remains largely dominated yet by technical, centralised and non-transparent approaches. We are witnessing an explosion in the use of generative AI, growing inequalities in technological expertise and a need for a European player to reflect on the economic and ethical implications of these issues.

ESSEC has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to societal challenges. With the Metalab Institute, it is structuring this ambition into a transdisciplinary institute at the heart of Europe.

Founded in 2020, with more than 10 years of experience in AI and data, the Metalab Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Society is helping to shape the future of human societies through an integrative approach to the development and adoption of AI and technologies.

 

The first European institute to cover the full AI value chain, the Metalab Institute helps organisations navigate and better understand the social, economic, cultural and ethical impacts of AI and data.

  • RESEARCH: The Metalab Institut produces in-depth knowledge on artificial intelligence, data and their economic, social and ethical impacts.
