ESSEC EMBA Ranks First Worldwide for Career Impact in QS 2026 Rankings

28.4.2026

The QS Executive MBA Rankings 2026, released today, place ESSEC Business School’s EMBA portfolio among the top programs globally. In a landmark achievement, the ESSEC Weekend Executive MBA entered the global rankings for the first time, securing the 12th position worldwide out of 215 programs. Simultaneously, the  ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA (Europe & Singapore tracks) climbed one place to rank 8th worldwide among joint programs, holding its place in the global top 10.

The most significant metric in this year’s report is Career Impact. The ESSEC Weekend EMBA is now ranked #1 in the world for this category. The ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA followed closely at #5.

QS measures this impact through salary growth and promotions within one year of graduation. These results demonstrate how the curriculum, built around key topics like  Leadership, AI, ESG, and Innovation, translates into immediate professional ROI. Participants benefit from:

  • International Residencies: direct exposure to global innovation ecosystems.

  • Applied Projects: real-world problem-solving in a corporate context.

  • Leadership & Career Development: individual and group coaching to navigate C-suite transitions.

Both programs rank among the world's best for Diversity – the ESSEC Weekend EMBA at #3 globally, the ESSEC & MANNHEIM MBA at #6, the latter achieving a perfect score for international student representation.

Behind these rankings are two key elements.

First, cohorts that bring together a minimum of 20 different nationalities.

Second, a shared pedagogical philosophy: participants are placed into Multi-Competence Teams (MCTs), work groups deliberately assembled across functions, industries and nationalities to replicate the dynamics of a diverse boardroom.

The result is a learning environment where diversity is not a backdrop but an active driver of the experience and a practical preparation for the realities of leading across borders and cultures. This structure ensures that diversity is an active part of the learning process rather than a secondary metric.

The rankings also confirm ESSEC’s reputation as a global research powerhouse. Both programs placed in the Top 10 for Thought Leadership and the Top 15 for Employer Reputation.

These scores reflect the quality of ESSEC faculty research and the high level of confidence global recruiters have in the school’s graduates. Together, these results validate ESSEC’s mission: preparing leaders who combine strategic clarity with a commitment to responsible, global impact.

Reflecting on these achievements, Julien Malaurent, Executive Vice-President & Dean for Post Experience Programs, Corporate Programs and Relations, stated: "These scores reflect the quality of ESSEC faculty research and the high level of confidence global recruiters have in the school’s graduates. Together, these results validate ESSEC’s mission: preparing leaders who combine strategic clarity with a commitment to responsible, global impact."

The QS Executive MBA rankings are based on five main criteria: career outcomes (salary progression and promotions within 12 months of graduation), diversity (gender and nationality mix), employer reputation (perception of graduate readiness in global labour markets), executive profile (seniority and managerial experience of participants), and thought leadership (academic perceptions of institutional excellence).
