How to apply?
For all students
- The APL application process must be completed by the student ONCE KEYS HAVE BEEN PICKED UP on the CAF website with the help of the procedure guide given the day of your arrival.
- If you have already received APL, you must contact your former CAF center and arrange for changing CAF offices.
- Please note that you must open a French bank account in order to apply for APL.
For all students with French citizenship
- The housing subsidy cannot be combined with the family subsidies.
For all students not possessing French citizenship
- For students outside the European Union, a visa or a resident permit is mandatory.
- The period of validity of the residence permit must correspond to the length of occupancy.
- The eligibility of the housing subsidy depends on the nature of the visa, but not the duration.
- ESSENTIAL: birth certificates must be translated into French and stamped by the French embassy or consulate in your home country.
Necessary items to provide to your APL file
French student
- National identity card or passport
- Proof of earnings for 2020, income statement or payslips for 2021 (the CAF will rely on your 2021 revenues as of January 2023)
- RIB (Bank account identification)
- Housing certificate
Student from the European Union
- National identity card or passport
- Birth certificate and its translation into French stamped by the French embassy or consulate in your home country
- European Health Insurance card
- Proof of earnings for 2020, income statement or payslips for 2021 (the CAF will rely on your 2021 revenues as of January 2023)
- School certificate
- Declaration on honour (we will give you the form when handing you the keys)
- RIB (Bank account identification)
- Housing certificate
Non European Student
- Passport
- Visa or residence permit
- Birth certificate and its translation into French stamped by the French embassy or consulate in your home country
- Proof of earnings for 2020, income statement or payslips for 2021 (the CAF will rely on your 2021 revenues as of January 2023)
- RIB (Bank account identification)
- Housing certificate
