Data Oriented Thinking ESSEC-CentraleSupélec

Data Oriented Thinking (DOT) ESSEC-CentraleSupélec is a student-led association between ESSEC Business School and CentraleSupélec – Unversité Paris Saclay. This is the first association of its kind to bridge the two schools. The objective of DOT is to allow students from all backgrounds at ESSEC and CentraleSupélec to gain a thorough understanding of the domain of data and its different applications.

As our world revolves increasingly around data collection, mining, predictions, and interpretations, it is essential for leaders of tomorrow to fully grasp data-oriented thinking. Indeed, outside the context of specific teachings such as the Data Sciences & Business Analytics program, we have seen that this theme is often viewed as a distant subject and reserved for certain fields of study.

A Master in Data Sciences & Business Analytics dedicated campus is available for the DSBA students in Paris. Located at the crossroads of the 14th, 15th and 6th Arrondissement, it will host the first term for M1 students, and the majority of the courses for M2 students. This campus presents an opportunity for DSBA students to have their own locale, and a place where the cohort can work, participate and organize events.

In September 2017, CentraleSupélec opened the doors to its brand new Saclay campus, in Gif-sur-Yvette: 105,000m2 of excellence and innovation comprising 4 buildings, of which two are completely new. Located 25 km south of Paris, it will attract more than 30,000 people, of which 8,000 students and scientific equipment employees from both public and private sectors.

On this campus, we organize cultural, social and even technological activities, such as Gala, Central Business Forum, Centrale 7, etc. for ove 2,000 students from 60 countries. Doing sports and relaxing is also essential for many Centralers’: our campus houses gyms, restaurants, collaborative work spaces, sports rooms and many other facilities.
