ABOUT THE EXPERT

Prof. Sonja Prokopec is the ESSEC LVMH Chaired Professor of Luxury Brand Management. She was named one of the Top 40 under 40 Business School Professors worldwide in 2015 (Poets&Quants ranking). Her research explores consumer judgment and decision-making. She is also interested in understanding the factors that affect brand perceptions of luxury brands. Prof. Prokopec's research has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology, among others, as well as a variety of media including the Huffington Post, the Business of Fashion and the Business Times Singapore. Outside of teaching and research, she actively advises companies from the luxury industry in regard to consumer behavior trends, consumer research and marketing, and brand management issues. Prof. Prokopec received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Houston in 2007.

Design Thinking Workshop [ONLINE]

Overview:

Organizations with a strong culture of innovation understand the challenges of developing new ideas, solutions, and products while also managing the successful implementation of these innovations. Innovation requires finding original insight, skilfully translating them into testable prototypes, and carefully combining and refining the prototypes into a successful solution or product.

The objective of ESSEC’s Design Thinking Workshop is to keep executives at the forefront of facilitating innovation.

Participants will form teams and embark on a best-practice, hands-on and action-learning Design Thinking journey to ideate and rapid-prototype customer-centric solutions solving real business problems. Participants will specifically explore challenges and opportunities in the post-COVID-19 business world.

The workshop will also help inspire, educate, and empower individual participants to become more innovative, agile, and understand how they can better adapt and leverage on Design Thinking as part of their everyday job.

Participants will finally be exposed to understand how to pitch learnings/findings from design thinking to their leaders to gain buy-in.

Learning Objectives

  • Upskill participants and help them integrate the Design Thinking mindset, tools & method to their day to day business challenges.
  • Be equipped with practical tools and skills for the implementation of Design Thinking within organizations.
  • Specifically guide participants to apply Design Thinking to identify practical problems worth solving via empathy and define stage, ideation, rapid-prototyping, and testing customer-centric solutions.
  • Overall support cultural transformation by helping participants harness customer-centricity, become more innovative, agile, and better problem solvers whilst understanding how to ignite and excite others (including leaders) around the possibilities this offers.

  • Develop insights on how to leverage and align key stakeholders to innovate.

About the Expert: 

Eric Saint-Andre

Innovation Advisor, Trainer, and Coach at Making Innovation Happen

Eric is a leading expert in design thinking, innovation, business model innovation, and startup acceleration. He is the Founder and Managing Director of ASA Advisory Services, a leading Innovation Consultancy based in Singapore, and also the founder of Augmented Tribe, a tech-startup offering a Collaborative Learning Platform to digitize all his learning programs. Eric has worked hand in hand with hundreds of corporate innovation teams as part of innovation programs he has designed and facilitated. He has also accelerated in excess of 100 startups in South East Asia working hand in hand with each one of those over the past six years based in Singapore.

With years of practical knowledge and experience in innovation methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Future-Driven Business Innovation,  Value Proposition Design, Business Model Innovation, Eric has helped numerous large MNCs, local enterprises, and public organizations (GovTech, SBF, SG Innovate, etc.)  designing and facilitating fit-for-purpose design thinking, innovation and transformation programs, to help them become more agile, innovative and highly adaptable to change.
