The program features self-guided online modules created for flexibility, allowing you to learn at your own pace, and live online webinars.

The Entrepreneurial Project is an interdisciplinary capstone project that calls for participants to apply the content studied throughout the program.

It challenges participants to think critically about real luxury business problems within the framework of a small team. The project requires each participant to exercise creativity, rigor, and perseverance in applying program principles (in areas including strategy, operations, finance, HR, marketing, control, sales, technology management and content development) and hands-on experience to a real-world problem facing luxury markets and to develop effective solutions. Participants emerge ready to create their own companies or become stronger and more internationally-oriented business leaders.


Past entrepreneurial projects include:

  • An experiential digital luxury platform that opens the door to a selection of exclusive pieces, access to the best tailor-made experiences with experts, and lifestyle services worldwide.
  • Timeless luxury pieces, made in Italy, using plant-based leathers and sustainable fabrics craftsmanship, and attention to details.
  • The world’s first artisanal cranberry liqueur made with hand-picked, dry-harvested organic cranberries and botanicals in every bottle.

Ashok Som is full-Professor of the Management Department at ESSEC Business School. He is one of the pioneering thought leaders in designing organizations and an expert in global strategy. He is author of more than 110 cases, articles and books, such as The Road to Luxury: The New Frontiers in Luxury Brand Management (Wiley 2021, 2nd Edition; translated in Mandarin in 2023), The Road to Luxury: The Evolution, Markets and Strategies of Luxury Brand Management (Wiley, 2015, translated in Mandarin in 2016), and more. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and Habilation from CY University, Paris.

The Executive Master in Luxury Management and Design Innovation candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 27 years old

  • 6 years of professional experience (not necessarily in the Luxury industry)

  • a university degree (in any discipline)

  • proof of English proficiency
